Team Caterham at Schools Triathlon
On Sunday 23 April two teams of Caterham Prep pupils visited Royal Russell School to compete in the ‘Restless Development’ team triathlon and did themselves proud. The relay triathlon was very well attended with groups from all over the local community.
The Year 4 group consisting of James H, Freddie H, Dylan J and Atlas W had an early start as they took to the pool in the first race of the day. The rain stayed away until the running leg but didn’t deter the boys from giving it their all. This was the boys first ever triathlon and they came a brilliant 14th out of 104 teams, in a time of 40.30. A superb achievement which was complimented by the outstanding £1000 that they raised for charity.
The Year 6 team made up of Archie E, Harry D, Samuel P and Oak W raced later in the day after heavy rain made for muddy conditions. After competing as a team in last year’s event the boys knew what to expect and worked tirelessly to finish a fantastic 12th place out of 95 teams in a time of 37.54. The boys also raised over £200 for charity.
A brilliant day out and a great achievement by all of the boys, well done!
