Mathematical Problem Solvers
Year 5 have enjoyed putting their problem-solving skills to the test this week with a ‘dicey’ investigation. They were set the task of trying to find as many different totals showing on 2/3 dice with the one rule that where 2 dice faces touch, they must be the same number. This required a lot of mathematical thinking with some children opting to use a trial and error method, whilst others went down the route of trying to find a formula in order to solve the problem. A lot of fantastic collaborative discussions were had!
