Netball Fixtures Underway
This week, we had our first block netball fixture against The Hawthorns, and what a week it was! Our U8s ran out in their first match experience playing the Flier 4 a side format, and goals were plentiful for all teams. The U8s won with a clean sweep: 6-3, 4-1, 6-0 and 5-3, what a great start to the season! The U11s followed suit on Wednesday afternoon, with once again, super goal-scoring score lines: 18-3, 15-2 and 4-3. The U10A also came away with a 11-1 win, with the Bs losing out this week against a stronger Hawthorns side, but positive feedback to take away from the game, and the C team had a close game, narrowly losing 1-2. The U9s rounded up the week with an away fixture, playing in their first 5 aside format. There is still a lot to get to grips with positional responsibilities, but a great effort by all considering the weather! The As and Bs got scores on the board but lost out 3-8 and 4-7 respectively. The C and D matches were a much closer affair, with the C’s making great progress over the course of the match, to get ahead of the ball-they narrowly missed out 2-3 and the D’s dug deep with turnover after turnover, to come away with a draw 1-1. Well done everyone, next week’s block fixture is against Reigate St Mary
