Rugby Fixture Update
It has been a bumper couple of weeks on the rugby field for the boys at Caterham Prep. Last week they had a full block of fixtures with our friends at Reigate St Mary’s. The U8 boys continue to grow in promise and are really showing a great understanding of the game. Their discipline in defence is to be admired and with the ball in hand the boys are running, direct purposeful lines and the strength in depth in the year makes the future of prep rugby look very bright. The Year 6 boys continue to make progress in the face of tough opposition in their games against Reigate and Chinthurst and their teamwork against Chinthurst was particularly pleasing.
The U10 boys continued their phenomenal season with both the A and B teams remaining unbeaten. The rugby being played by the A team shows a maturity beyond their years, they play with control, discipline and flair and it is a pleasure to watch. It has been a fantastic season with the boys winning every game against some very tough opposition. The B team have also played some very dynamic rugby and with the ball in hand, they have run in some amazing tries.
The U9 A team are playing with heart but much more work needs to be done on defence. The B team played well against Reigate and thoroughly deserved their win which was built on solid defence and hard running.
Our rugby season concludes after half term with a set of fixtures at home against Micklefield.
