Tes Shortlist Caterham Prep as Best Independent Prep School
Caterham Prep has been shortlisted for the ‘Independent Prep School of the Year’ award in the 2024 Times Education Supplement (Tes) School Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of the education world. Today’s news follows Caterham School winning the Tes Best Independent Senior School in 2023. The TES Awards recognise the most outstanding organizations and initiatives that the education sector has to offer and cover all UK school sectors and age ranges to recognise the very best teachers and schools across the country.
Ben Purkiss, Headmaster said: “This is just fantastic news for everyone in the Caterham Prep and Caterham School community. Being recognised for the work that we do here by the experts at Tes means so much to all of us. Our focus and measure of success is the positive everyday experience and progress of our pupils, but to have this external endorsement of the work we do is just amazing. This is also recognition of the important work we do with our fantastic colleagues in our partner local primary schools.”
“Across the whole team here there’s been the broadest of smiles today – I hope all of our pupils and parents can enjoy this honour as much as we are!”
The panel of awards judges include school leaders, experts and education researchers. The objectivity, professionalism and high standards of the Tes Schools Awards judges and the judging process has helped establish them as a well-respected achievement for any school chosen as a finalist or winner.
Jon Severs, Editor of Tes Magazine said, “Congratulations to all the shortlisted entries – the standard was so high this year despite the challenges schools face. It is critical we celebrate excellence and share it widely so we can ensure that the fantastic work happening in education is properly recognised.“
The Tes Schools Awards Winners will be announced on Friday 21 June at a gala ceremony at London’s Grosvenor Park Hotel.
