Global

Global is the key to a really modern curriculum and is unique to Caterham. Instead of teaching the traditional siloed subjects of history, geography and religious studies, we create globally aware pupils by looking at the past, present and future of carefully chosen topics through our global lessons. The topics begin with a big question ranging from “Where am I?” in Year1, to ” What happens if we don’t have clean water? in Year 5, through exploration of these discussions,  the children gain an appreciation of other cultures, belief systems and physical and human geographical reasons for choices made, thus equipping the children to be able to make informed and meaningful decisions about future events they will inevitably face.
