England Rocks Maths Competition Completed

What an amazing three days of times tables competition we had last week! Both the class and individual leaderboard kept changing from hour to hour. A huge well done to the whole of the Prep School for getting really stuck into their times tables.

Nearly 5,000 schools up and down the country took part in the competition and Caterham Prep’s total score gave them a position of 63rd, which is fantastic. With less than 200 children in the Prep School and with each correct answer scoring a point, we achieved 284,902 points in just three hours (one hour a day) of game play! There was also an internal battle (and bragging rights) between the classes and the final placings were 4S in 3rd, 5M in 2nd and with a total of 68,575 and winning by just 200 points were 6S. Lastly, children were in an individual contest that pitted child against child. The final placings for this were Cicero (5M) in 3rd, Pierre (6S) in 2nd and winning by 507 points with a score of 16,835 points was Abdullah (5M). His score equates to answering 93 questions correctly every minute over the three hours! Some truly remarkable statistics from the children! Well done to you all!
