Chamber Choir & JETS celebrate Caterham URC 150th Anniversary in style

Chamber Choir performed a moving and beautiful recital of choral anthems at Caterham United Reformed Church in a special Twilight Concert that formed part of the church’s 150th anniversary celebrations. The school and URC have long been associated and we were delighted to support their fundraising and awareness campaign, supporting the local community. Chamber Choir sang a selection of choral music old and new- from Purcell and Handel, Elgar and Vaughan-Williams to more recent works including Anna Lapwood’s stunning ‘Drop Down Ye Heavens’. They were joined by training choir JETS from Caterham Prep who sang their own beautiful anthem ‘A Graceful Heart’ and joined Chamber Choir for other pieces. The choirs, together, made a striking and powerful sound, ending the performance with a mighty hymn ‘O Praise Ye The Lord’. There were many memorable musical moments at this Twilight Concert, with the sun shining- the perfect way to end a busy musical term. Well done to all singers.
