Fairtrade Fortnight
Did you know that we all have the power to choose the world we want? This is the theme of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight.
In our assembly this week the children learnt about the concept of Fairtrade and how it helps to create fairer pay for the farmers who produce the crops that are used to make many of the products that we buy.
Just by making a choice to buy a fair-trade product means that we can help to make lives better for farmers and their families in developing countries. After the assembly, all the children have been asked to draw around their hands onto a piece of paper or card and create a picture inside their hand showing how they can change the world through their actions. They are also going to be looking at home to see if they have any fair-trade products and if they can encourage their parents to buy fair trade products so that our farmers have a fairer future.
