Clean Sweep of Netball Fixture Wins

Clean Sweep of Netball Fixture Wins

We’ve had a fabulous week of netball matches, without a loss across all age groups!

Starting off the week, the U8s hosted Hawthorns for 5 a side stinger matches, playing in specific positions, it was a great opportunity to put into practice what they have been doing in lessons. Plenty of goals were scored and the girls are excited for their next match- A won 3-0, B won 8-0, C won 4-3 and D won 1-0.

Two squads from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Russell House for this week’s senior A and B fixture. The A team were confident in their positions and were adaptable when playing in new roles. Takeaways from the game were shooters to be more dominant at the post and everyone to be more confident to pass when under pressure. A tight game throughout, with a final score 9-9. The Bs played well as a team, again changing positions at the quarter mark, it was a great opportunity to try new combinations. Caterham dominated the play and converted most of their shooting opportunities winning 12-4.  The rest of Years 5 and 6 played in mixed teams in a friendly round robin against Moon Hall.  Caterham had the pleasure of some senior 1st Team netballers acting as coach and umpires and it was a fantastic afternoon, with Caterham winning across the board.

To round up the week, a team from U9 travelled to Moon Hall on Thursday for a friendly coaching game, taking the win 8-1.  Next week, it’s a return block fixture with Reigate St Mary.
