Creative Poppies and Thoughtful Reflection
To commemorate Remembrance Day, the Reception children engaged in meaningful activities that helped them learn about the importance of this day. They used creativity and teamwork to honour those who have served.
The children worked with loose parts to create their own poppies, bringing their individual ideas to life in a unique way. They also made a beautiful poppy collage, using colouring and cutting skills to assemble poppies onto a class wreath.
At 11.00 am, the classes observed a two-minute silence while watching the CBeebies “Poppies” animation, a gentle and moving way for the children to reflect. The activities provided a thoughtful, hands-on approach to help our youngest pupils understand the significance of Remembrance Day.
