Eco Warriors Monitor Air Quality
In Year 6, Eco Warriors have been learning about the importance of keeping the air we breathe clean and fresh. We have been measuring the CO2 levels in classrooms with our SAMHE monitor that we use to measure the purity of the air. This is why we should open our windows (but not too much as we don’t want to loose all our warm air) because otherwise we are just breathing in other peoples CO2. We would also recommend to have a plant in your room because they do a process called photosynthesis which taking in the CO2 and will give you some fresh oxygen. In the next few weeks we will continue to monitor the levels of CO2 to keep our school clean. Keeping the windows open is a brilliant way to keep healthy and safe. All of us have received our own logins to the SAMHE website where we are completing activities that are teaching us more about the importance of having clean air to breathe. We can look at a variety of graphs to monitor the data on our iPads and it is very interesting. A group of scientists in London are monitoring the data that our SAMHE monitor is collecting.
