Empathy and Collaboration at World Book Day 2025

Empathy and Collaboration at World Book Day 2025

This week, pupils across the Pre-Prep and Prep School came together to celebrate all things reading for World Book Day.

This year’s theme aligned with the school’s Learning Power of Empathy and Collaboration, encouraging pupils to dress as characters who embody these traits. In addition to showcasing these qualities through their costumes, pupils demonstrated them in action by working together throughout the day. The enthusiasm and creativity behind the costumes were fantastic, with many pupils putting in great effort to design and make elements of their own outfits.

The day was filled with engaging reading-based activities designed to foster a love of books. A highlight was the shared reading of The Proudest Blue, which sparked thoughtful discussions on cultural awareness and the importance of empathy in embracing individuality. To further explore these themes, pupils created their own identity cards and worked collaboratively to form meaningful shapes, such as hearts, and even spelled out the words Empathy and Collaboration.

The way pupils embraced the day reflected a strong appreciation for reading, reinforcing its role in both personal enjoyment and academic development. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this a truly special celebration of books and storytelling!
