Hockey Round Up
The U8s travelled to Copthorne Prep on Tuesday afternoon for another round of mini matches. It was great to see the girls building on their ball carrying and passing skills and the desire to score lots of goals was evident across the pitches. It has been a super couple of weeks for the U8s experiencing friendly fixtures, travelling away to face new opposition and getting to grips with a range of skills. After half term, they will face off against each other in house matches before moving on to netball.
On Wednesday afternoon, the U10 and U11s competed in the eagerly anticipated House competition. All teams played their socks off, with lots of opportunity for game play as well as a thrilling penalty shootout after each round of games. The overall winners for each year group, came down to the final games, with Foxburrow taking the Year 5 title and Viewpoint taking the win for Year 6.
To round off the week and half term, the U9s hosted Russell House for 5 a side matches. A lovely afternoon in the sunshine, the ‘A’ game was a battle of the defenders, with some super clearing out from the back and strong tackling from both teams. The B team ran away with a five goal haul and the C team had a more challenging game this week. The U9s will play their internal House fixture after half term.
