Immersive Experiences to Bring Topics to Life
For the past two weeks, many classes in the school have been trialling Now Press Play; an award-winning immersive audio resource. Each class has been able to listen to an experience delivered through headphones with accompanying sounds, stories and movement. As soon as the story starts, the entire class becomes part of the narrative and it has been delightful watching them go straight into character. The experiences were so enjoyable that the children have asked to hear more.
Year 6 have listened to the story of Harriet Tubman for their topic entitled, Are all People Free? whilst Year 5 have listened to the Maya Civilisation in preparation for their Topic of What Makes a Successful Civilisation? which will be closely connected to South America. Year 4 have listened to the experiences connected to their topic of What is the Impact of Climate Change? and Year 3 have listened to an experience about the Romans as part of their topic called How Does the Past Impact on the Present?
