Lots to Learn in the Forest Classroom
This week all the Pre-Prep children have been enjoying the ‘new’ Outdoor Classroom. They have all been amazed by the many fruit trees that have been planted in the area. The children all wanted to know why the trees were surrounded by a wire structure, they were surprised to find out that deer would eat the trees if they weren’t protected by the wire! The fruit trees will eventually become an orchard. The children also explored the herb garden, everyone had a chance to smell the different types of herbs. In addition to all this learning we expanded our knowledge about foxes. We discussed that baby foxes were called cubs or kits and that a female fox was called a vixen. The children loved sharing their fox stories with each other. We all had so much fun learning outside that the children were very reluctant to end their outdoor learning sessions.
