Polished Performances at Rush Hour
On Thursday we had our first concert of the academic year. ‘Rush Hour’ concerts are aimed at giving our talented prep musicians the chance to perform a solo in a more formal setting in front of a larger audience.
Many of the children performing had been learning their instruments for less than a year but had prepared polished performances worthy of a showcase. They were then able to enjoy listening to performances from pupils with a few more years of experience.
On this occasion we had solos on the Harp, Piano, Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello, Trombone, Singing and Saxophone.
It was particularly exciting to hear the Grade 5 and 6 pieces played by Kiera (cello), Eugenia (violin), Sophia (singing) and Cecilia (piano). What a lot of talented musicians we have!
Many thanks to Dr Brammeld for accompanying and all the music teachers who have helped the children to prepare.
