Pre-Prep Earth Cubs Join the Environmental Voice
Pupils and staff at Caterham Prep are passionate about environmental issues, from looking after the school site and our own woodland biome to playing our part in tackling global challenges. Having worked hard to achieve our Eco-Schools Status with Distinction last June, we have expanded our platform for pupils across the school to talk, learn, discuss and collaborate on environmental issues that are important to their present and future.
In addition to our older Eco Warriors, Year 6 pupils who meet each week to work on projects, we look forward to hearing from our youngest Earth Cubs, a group of children from each class in Pre-Prep who represent the views of their peers. In addition, the Junior Green Voice is formed of children from each class in Year 3, 4 and 5. The three groups will meet collectively every third week to give their opinions and feedback on environmental matters. This week saw our first meeting and it was exciting to see the collective enthusiasm and hear everyone’s views and ideas – this next generation is so important to the future of our planet.
