Soderberg Quartet Through to Pro Corda National Final!

Soderberg Quartet Through to Pro Corda National Final!

We are very proud to announce that our brilliant Soderberg Quartet have made it through to the Grand Final of the National Pro Corda Chamber Music competition taking place this weekend. This prestigious competition celebrates the very best of school chamber music ensembles and it is the first time ever that an entry from Caterham Prep has made it this far. A fantastic achievement! The Soderberg Quartet consists of Eugenia (violin), Marble (violin), Cecilia Q (viola), and Kiera (cello). Abundantly talented as soloists, as an ensemble they have a vibrant and friendly dynamic that results in beautiful, lyrical performances. Selected from a large number of chamber ensembles to progress to the final, they will be performing the theme from Beauty and the Beast, and He’s a Pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Caterham School was proud to be a host school for the initial rounds, and this year the final is taking place locally at Woldingham School, on Sunday 16 March. Around 50 ensembles will perform, followed by adjudication and prize-giving at the end of the day.

Good luck girls, we wish you the very best for the weekend and can’t wait to hear how you get on!
