Sweet Maths
This week in Maths, Year 6 pupils have been completing open ended investigations with a theme of sweets. They were first asked to consider sweets being handed out around a table at a party and to explore the effect of changing the number of people and the size and shape of the tables, on the total number of sweets handed out.
The second task required them to design a rectangular sweet box. They investigated the effect of changing the dimensions of the box, adding layers and restricting which sweets can be placed next to each other.
Next week they will be presenting their findings to the rest of the class.
