Through-School Musical Extravaganza!

Through-School Musical Extravaganza!

The Music Departments at Caterham Senior and Prep School will come together at the start of the Summer Term for two exciting collaborative events, raising money for charity. These will see combined instrumental ensembles and choirs- a wonderful way to see our through-school approach to music and inspire younger musicians as they hear the musical progression that they can achieve through the years. Some pupils will be involved in both events and will enjoy two fantastic events full of joyful music-making.

A Choral Celebration, Tuesday 29 April, 6.00pm – St John’s Church, Caterham

Featuring both sacred and varied repertoire- all Caterham School choirs will come together in massed performances accompanied by a staff band. The concert will be attended by special guest of honour, Vice-Chair of Tandridge, Councillor Claire Blackwell. There will be a charity collection in aid of St John’s Church.

Gala Concert, Thursday 1 May, 6.00pm Humphreys Theatre

All prep instrumental ensembles (Orchestra, Concert Band, String Quartet, Flute Ensemble, Year 6) will be joined by senior ensembles (Swing Band, Saxophone Ensemble, String quartet) for an exciting and varied programme of music. There will be a charity collection in aid of Renewed Hope; a local charity based in Redhill providing practical solutions and emotional support to the homeless, vulnerable and isolated in East Surrey.

The whole school community is warmly invited to both events- tickets/booking are not required.
