U9 Lingfield Hockey Festival
Last Thursday, the U9A hockey girls played in the Lingfield festival. The girls made a strong start, with the aim of the day not only to have fun, but to pass out wide, the girls came away with a 2-0 win against Micklefield. Next up was Reigate St Mary’s, the girls were keen to get stuck in, as they had lost to the same team a few weeks earlier. It was an end to end match, but Caterham capitalised on a break with Ella W and Ruby M combining to bring home the win, 1-0 Caterham. Lingfield Prep followed and once again, the girls ran their socks off, excellent defensive play by Eugenia H and Johanna C, a few chances went shy of the post but neither team could find the back of the net and we had to settle for the draw, 0-0. Our final match was against Rose Hill, another end to end game with Katie W, Martha J, Marble C and Naomi O covering the wings, Rose Hill took advantage of a loose ball and scored. Caterham dominated the Rose Hill D but the opposition defence worked tirelessly to clear the ball off the line, the final score 0-1. A fabulous afternoon-well done everyone!
