Year 4 Tour Dover Castle with Lady Eleanor of Aquitaine
Year 4 visited Dover Castle to look at the architecture and to see what living in a castle was like in Henry II’s time. We were shown around by Lady Eleanor of Aquitaine who allowed the children to accuse each other of heinous crimes and decide on the punishments that should be allocated. We learned about the sayings ‘Sleep tight’ and what a Guarderobe was. We had the opportunity to use armour and dress in medieval clothes. The day, while spent avoiding rain, was brilliant and the hailstones while in the coach on the way back only added to the excitement.
