Year 6 Engineering Challenge
This week in Year 6 Maths, a group of students have been completing an Engineering Challenge. Using only spaghetti (ideally uncooked) and marshmallows (ideally uneaten), they were asked to make a free standing bridge over a 50 cm gap. This one off challenge has allowed students to consider different mathematical shapes and how to distribute mass to offer structural strength and rigidity. As you can see from the photos, all the students involved threw themselves into the challenge and made some amazing structures!
